First Day in Faro
Faro is a charming city on the southern Portugal coast. Spring in full bloom.
Stopped for traditional southern Portugal fish stew. It is called Cataplana. With monkfish and seafood. So fresh and flavorful.
The order was for 2, and we did not think we could finish it.
But we did...
With a tiny bit of space for local sweet called, Dom Rodrigo. It's been an Algarve regional specialty since 18th century.
It's made of eggs, almonds, and cinnamon. Somehow they cook the eggs into long threads that look and taste like spaghetti squash.
Then they wrap it in colorful mylar triangles.
